Over the past year and a half, COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have forced fitness business owners to be creative with their business model. Delivering quality fitness programs became an added challenge that made us take advantage of new and improving resources. Being able to deliver personal training sessions from home became a necessity to stay in business. Whether it was DIY fitness classes, live virtual sessions, or online individualized fitness programs, everyone in the fitness industry learned something new about remote coaching software this year.
I am not the most technologically savvy person, and as the owner of my own fitness business, I originally used remote coaching software as a tool to help deliver a more versatile set of programs. However, as lockdowns increased and in-person sessions became unpredictable, my remote coaching software, TrueCoach, soon became less of an occasional tool and more of a pinnacle part of my business.
Here are 5 benefits that I have found since using TrueCoach:
- Program Versatility
HIIT classes, cycling sessions, and group training are great, but those types of programs only appeal to an audience that prefer group settings. Remote coaching software gives motivated individuals another option that does not require a set day and time, other people, or even a physical gym to participate. For individuals that have changing or busy schedules, prefer to workout alone, cannot afford the high cost of live personal training sessions, or do not feel comfortable being around crowds, virtual programming is often a great option. In essence, remote coaching software gives fitness businesses the ability to appeal to an entirely new clientele.
When it comes down to it, a fitness company that is able to deliver quality personal training sessions anytime and anywhere has elevated competency compared to its competitors. Having a reliable remote coaching software, like TrueCoach, elevates your company’s appearance and adds an entirely new layer of professionalism. COVID-19 lockdowns have made it necessary to incorporate virtual fitness programs, but now in order to stay competitive in the fitness industry it has become a necessity.
- Schedule Flexibility
Anyone who has spent a period of time around personal trainers comes to realize that working hours are not ideal at all. Coaching 4am classes, back-to-back sessions, not having lunch, and several late nights every week seems to be a normal personal trainer’s schedule. From an employee perspective, that is why remote coaching software can be so appealing. I run my entire business from my RV, and with my ever-changing location, schedule flexibility is necessary. If I know that I will be in a more remote area with poor internet, I plan ahead and try to get much of my programming completed in advance. That type of flexibility that remote coaching software allows for personal trainers is almost unheard of. A personal trainer can essentially work a 9am-5pm job, but clients are still able to workout at 5am and 8pm.
- Work from Anywhere
With lockdowns in place, remote coaching software makes it easy to work from home and still deliver quality personal training sessions. All you need is your computer or a phone and a reliable internet connection. However, even with fewer COVID-19 restrictions, virtual programming gives personal trainers the option to work from anywhere. Just because you are traveling to present at a conference does not mean you need to take a week off of work. You can now take your work with you to a conference, beach, or the library. This is ideal for people who like to work from home, travel frequently, or work in an office setting. For me, the convenience to work wherever I park is a true luxury as a business owner.
In these ever-changing times, being able to deliver personal training sessions anywhere and anytime helps me feel more secure in my business. Knowing that my business is fully prepared to survive–and dare I say thrive–during an international pandemic is very comforting. Your entire business does not need to revolve around preparation for doomsday, but by incorporating a remote coaching software into your programming, you can at least be better prepared for the future.
Although numerous fitness businesses initially invested in remote coaching software simply to survive the pandemic, it has now been recognized as a key component of any fitness program. The program versatility, schedule and workplace flexibility, professionalism, and preparation that remote coaching software offers is simply too valuable to lose even with slowly lifting restrictions.
